Talisker Skye was introduced in early 2015, named after the beautiful island on which the distillery resides. This expression brings with it a more well-rounded and sweet flavour profile packed with fresh citrus, sweet smoke, peppery spice and traditional Talisker maritime notes.
Talisker Skye is matured in a combination of refill and toasted American oak casks, with a slightly higher proportion of toasted casks. Talisker Skye whisky is perfect for those who perhaps find the classic Talisker flavour profile a bit too much, not to say that Talisker fans won't enjoy it too.
Talisker Skye is characterized by its pale gold color and smooth, yet complex taste. On the nose, it offers a combination of smoky peat, maritime notes, and a subtle sweetness. The aroma is reminiscent of bonfire smoke, sea salt, citrus zest, and a touch of vanilla.
The palate is rich and vibrant, with flavors of smoky peat, honeyed malt, brine, and black pepper. There is a pleasant balance between the smokiness and sweetness, making it an enjoyable and versatile whisky to sip neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails.
The finish is medium in length, leaving a lingering warmth and gentle spice on the palate, along with a touch of maritime influence.
